Budget 2023-24: VAT exemption on production of optical fiber
In the budget proposal entitled 'Across the long journey of development and towards smart Bangladesh', VAT exemption on the production of computer and internet products has been extended till 2026. It is also proposed to exempt 5 percent additional value added tax at the manufacturing stage of optical fiber and extend this exemption till June 30, 2024.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal proposed to increase the exemption facility in the budget tabled in the National Assembly on Thursday afternoon.
This will reduce the price of locally produced optical fiber.
